Hello friends!
So, yeah, I went to Animania (an Anime convention in Sydney) again, for the second time this year >_< but this was the official one. The first one I attended,in March, was apparently the 'mini' version. Who knew! I'm very glad I went to this one though, since it was much bigger and better, and I actually cosplayed this time.
I went as Ash Ketchum and Peta [link] was Misty. It was great. Although we weren't entering the cosplay competition so our costumes were mainly things we found around the house and didn't match up to the professional cosplayers at all, people seemed to like us!
We had loooads of photos. By that I mean, other people got photos of us. Pete and I both forgot to take a camera because we were very rushed this morning. OTZ! hopefully I can find some here on deviantART though, I'd love to see them.
We also had professional pictures taken for the animania website. (I don't know when they'll be up,maybe sometime in the next three days) That was really cool. We'd never done anything like that before!
There were a load of great artists there, I recognised I few people from here, which was cool They had the usual merchandise and cute hats and manga and costumes, but I didn't buy much. Just a print, two manga and a t-shirt.
As usual, there were amazing cosplayers. Every year they just get better, I swear. I saw just about everyone from every anime I know! We saw Team Rocket. A Jesse, a James and a Meowth. They were awesome people. Learnt the entire Team Rocket speech off by heart, and they recited it for us, then we took some photos together.
At one point, Caramell Dansen started playing and all these people gathered together to do the Caramell Dansen dance. Peta and I jumped in there. People kept joining in until we had at least forty people all doing the dance. I'm also going to look for that on youtube, sometime soon
We missed the Cosplay Competition unfortunately, because we had to go. I would've liked to see it, and a couple of other things too, but maybe next time. I'm definitely going back next September, hopefully we can cosplay again. I never realised how fun it was!
